We welcome applications from international students and are committed to recognising your achievements wherever you studied. If you hold overseas qualifications, we will consider your application based on a UK Statement of Comparability — a certificate issued by UK ENIC (the UK National Information Centre) that shows how your qualifications compare to UK standards. This statement helps us understand your academic background and ensures fair consideration. Please note that you must obtain and submit your Statement of Comparability before enrolment can be confirmed.

To apply for your Statement of Comparability, visit the UK ENIC website. If you need assistance, you can contact UK ENIC directly via their contact page.

We look forward to supporting your transition into our inclusive and ambitious sixth form community.

Entry requirements play a vital role in ensuring students are placed on courses where they can succeed and thrive.

At Plumstead Manor Sixth Form, these requirements help us assess whether applicants have the foundational knowledge and skills needed for the academic or vocational pathways they wish to pursue. By aligning students’ prior achievements with course expectations, we can better support their progress, maintain high standards of learning, and ensure that each student is set up for success. Meeting the entry criteria also allows us to tailor support and guidance, helping students make the most of their Sixth Form experience.  To see our current entry requirements for September 2026 please click here.

Financial Support for Sixth Form Students: The 16 to 19 Bursary Fund

At Plumstead Manor Sixth Form, we are committed to ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent students from accessing and thriving in education. The 16 to 19 Bursary Fund, provided by the UK government, offers financial support to eligible students to help cover essential costs such as travel, books, equipment, and specialist clothing required for their study programme.

There are two types of bursaries available:

  1. Bursaries for Vulnerable Groups – These are for students who are:

    • In care or care leavers
    • Receiving Income Support or Universal Credit in their own name
    • Receiving Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or Personal Independence Payment (PIP) alongside Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) or Universal Credit
  2. Discretionary Bursaries – These are awarded based on financial need and may support students:

    • In receipt of Free School Meals
    • From households with an income below £26,000
    • Facing specific financial challenges that affect their ability to participate in education

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Students must be aged 16 or over but under 19 on 31 August 2025.
  • Students aged 19+ may be eligible if they are continuing a course started before turning 19 or have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

How Support Is Provided:

  • Support is tailored to individual needs and may be given in kind (e.g., travel passes, books, equipment).
  • Payments are based on actual costs and evidence of need.
  • Students must have a bank account in their name for any direct payments.

Application Process:

  • Applications can be made at the start of the academic year or later if financial circumstances change.
  • Evidence of income or benefit status is required.
  • Awards are reviewed annually and are not guaranteed year-to-year.
