Opportunities

• All students have practical music lessons in Years 7-9 covering Performing, Composing and Appraising.
• Wide range of courses on offer at KS4 and KS5 including GCSE, BTEC Int., AS, A2 Level Music Technology
• Access to free instrumental tuition in the following areas: Piano, Voice, Music Technology (Cubase), Keyboard, Guitar (acoustic and electric), Drums, Sitar, Tabla, Steel Pans, Violin, Viola, Cello, Recorder, Flute, Clarinet, Bass Guitar, Saxophone, Trumpet, Tenor Horn and Euphonium. Exams studied in the various disciplines.
• To participate in ensembles, e.g. Drumming, Vocal Workshops and Steel Bands , both in and outside school.
• To use a fully equipped Recording Studio to study Music Technology A level, to make recordings at KS4.

Successes

• Bands and ensembles perform regularly in the community, e.g. Steel Band at Charity Fetes, Cantamos Choir at Primary Schools and Charity events.
• Successful Performing Arts Week
• Keyboard, guitar, clarinet, trumpet, violin and flute tuition given to South Rise Primary Year 5 pupils.
• Composer in Residence works with GCSE pupils to raise achievement
• 100% BTEC pass rate,
• BTEC Gig at local Catholic Club
• Jamming concert for Rock Bands in Eltham
