In Negus Sixth Form:
- To study Health and Social Care from entry to Level 3 and CACHE Childcare from Level 1 to advanced levels.
- To enter university and higher level courses in a whole range of Health and Social Care and Childcare areas.
- To develop skills required for employment in the caring professions.
- To gain an understanding of Health, Social Care and Early Years environments.
- To gain skills in planning, evaluating and presenting ideas.
- To develop skills in working with people, problem solving and meeting deadlines.
- To visit hospitals, clinics and health centres, etc.
- To take first aid training
- To undertake work experience in caring environments.
Successes
- Health and Social Care advanced students gained 100 per cent pass rate in June 2002, with 75 per cent progressing on to university courses.
- Consistently high rate of achievement on all Health and Social Care and Childcare courses.
- Students on all courses completed successful work experience placements.
- All year 10 students achieved ASDAN Bronze award.
