  • GCSE in Health & Social Care (double award - equal to two GCSEs).
  • Opportunities to take ASDAN AWARDS
  • CACHE Entry level Certificate in Preparation for Childcare

In Negus Sixth Form:

  • To study Health and Social Care from entry to Level 3 and CACHE Childcare from Level 1 to advanced levels.
  • To enter university and higher level courses in a whole range of Health and Social Care and Childcare areas.
  • To develop skills required for employment in the caring professions.
  • To gain an understanding of Health, Social Care and Early Years environments.
  • To gain skills in planning, evaluating and presenting ideas.
  • To develop skills in working with people, problem solving and meeting deadlines.
  • To visit hospitals, clinics and health centres, etc.
  • To take first aid training
  • To undertake work experience in caring environments.

Successes

  • Health and Social Care advanced students gained 100 per cent pass rate in June 2002, with 75 per cent progressing on to university courses.
  • Consistently high rate of achievement on all Health and Social Care and Childcare courses.
  • Students on all courses completed successful work experience placements.
  • All year 10 students achieved ASDAN Bronze award.
