Opportunities

• Every student studies dance in Years 7-9.
• Years 10 and 11 can opt to study dance as one of their activities within the National Curriculum PE programme.
• Opportunity to study Dance at GCSE AS and A2 level.
• To study GCSE Dance in the after school enrichment programme.
• To have access to our fully equipped dance studio.
• To participate in workshops with professional dance companies.
• To work with students from other areas of the curriculum and other schools.
• Work Experience at the London Studio, The Centre of PA, The Laban Centre and Greenwich Dance Agency.
• To attend Dance clubs, Theatre Train, Dance Fever, Greenwich Youth Dance Company.
• To perform in our annual dance show "Outburst".
• To gain reduced price theatre tickets.

Successes

• 100 per cent pass rate at GCSE and A2.
• We have very strong links with Greenwich Dance Agency and the Laban Centre. Students have also worked with the following dance companies: Rambert, Phoenix, Retina, AMP, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Random, English National Ballet and Royal Ballet.
• Gifted and Talented Programme - workshop at Greenwich University.
• GCSE students act as 'demonstration classes' for staff INSETs at GDA and Laban Centre.
• Dance students from PMS have gained places at the following: National Youth Ballet of Great Britain, Lewisham College, London Studio and Ballet Central.
• Primary Dance Sharing at PMS.
• Residencies with Dance Theatre of Harlem and English National Ballet.

• Groundbreaking Internet and dance project with Random Dance Company, exploring the relationship between technology and dance.
• A residency with the Birmingham Royal Ballet based on their world premiere of Arthur 2, (only London school to be involved.)
• Christmas Youth Dance week with Random Dance Company at the Greenwich Dance Agency culminating in performances at the new Laban Centre.
• Lewisham College Dance Touring Company provides annual performance and workshop.
• Greenwich Youth Dance Company launched and based at PMS. Performed at opening of the Greenwich Docklands festival., Lets Dance and Lets Swing at Greenwich Dance Agency.
• PMS Indian and Chinese Dance groups tour local Jubilee Street Party Workshop in collaboration with Music and Drama departments.
• Dance performance by Year 7 students, tutored by AS Dance students.
